Beginner A1

The course is divided into two modules. Each module (Module 1 & Module 2) duration is 24 hours.

You can choose to enrol to A1/Module 1 or A1/Module 2 which follows A1/Module 1.

Students

Programme

Having completed each module you will be able to try out your skills in real-life situations: order food in a Polish restaurant, see Polish films and listen to Polish pop, folk and rock music.

  • Greetings and farewells
  • Introducing yourself and others
  • Asking for information - personal details: telephone number, address, email address. And getting to know what you shouldn't ask about: women's age, earnings…
  • Describing people and objects
  • Occupations and Interests
  • Family and relationships
  • Restaurants and cafes, dinner and eating etiquette (useful phrases: such as "I'm full")
  • Polish money
  • Daily routine
  • Days of the week and timetables
  • Telling the time
  • Expressing probability and capability
  • Means of transport, buying tickets asking for help
  • Suggesting, accepting and rejecting proposed meetings
  • Booking a hotel room, taxi and tickets
  • Asking for information at the railway station or hotel
  • Doing the shopping (groceries and clothes)
  • Making compliments
  • Present and past events (present and past tenses).
Elementary A1+

The course is divided into two modules. Each module (Module 1 & Module 2) duration is 24 hours.

You can choose to enrol to A1+/Module 1 or A1+/Module 2 which follows A1+/Module 1.

Students

The course is designed for students who:

  • completed 50 hours of training
  • and/or for those who has been living in Poland for around a year
  • or use simplified Polish in everyday communication with friends and relatives

Programme

  • Making plans and arrangements (future tense)
  • Phone conversations
  • Asking for directions (Excuse me, could you tell me, where the bank is...)
  • Main tourists' attractions of Poland
  • Finding your way around a train station (where to ask, and how to ask about information you need)
  • Renting and arranging a flat
  • Weather and seasons of the year
  • Making an appointment with a doctor, giving advice, parts of the human body and symptoms of illness
  • Sport and terminology (football the Polish way)
  • How to improve your memory
  • Polish customs, do's and don'ts with Polish relatives and friends
  • Christmas and Easter, traditions and cuisine
  • Making formal speeches and informal announcements
  • Office - devices, etiquette, asking for help.
Waystage A2

The course is divided into two modules. Each module (Module 1 & Module 2) duration is 24 hours.

You can choose to enrol to A2/Module 1 or A2/Module 2 which follows A2/Module 1.

  • completed 100 hours of training
  • and/or for those who has been living in Poland for around two years
  • or use Polish in everyday communication with friends and relatives.

  • Expressing wishes, expectations, obligations, assumptions

Waystage A2+

  • and/or for those who has been living in Poland for around three years
  • or use Polish extensively in everyday communication with friends and relatives.

  • How to say that - defining and describing (survival skills)
  • Everyday colloquial expressions and useful phrases (shortcuts in communication)
  • Calling a handyman/mechanic/computer services: describing a problem and following instructions
  • History of inventions, how does it work, what do you need it for?
  • Lifestyle and habits
  • Giving directions and orders (how to be polite with using imperative mood?)
  • Describing a problem and feelings
  • Holiday in Poland: where, why, what you have to know
  • Regions of Poland (description and tourist attractions)
  • Polish Bank Holidays

Pronunciation Workshops
These classes are designed to improve your pronunciation level.
Students

No matter which level of Polish classes you undertake you can enrol to pronunciation workshops.

Up to 7 students in a group.

Programme

Classes are conducted by a voice emission trainer who will help you roll your "r" and distinguish "ć" from "cz".

Tongue twisters will not be of your concern any more, and above of all, you will make your oral communication more efficient.
